ENTERTAINMENT

We hope to make this year the best ever Melbourne Irish Festival. As always there will be a variety of entertainment provided over the course of the day.  We'll have music by the score, dancers by the dozen and entertainers galore.

We'll be announcing acts as soon as they are confirmed so follow us on Facebook or watch this space for updates.

For further details of what's happening on the day check out our Festival map by clicking here.

LIVE MUSIC

MAIN STAGE

Pat McKernan (solo performer)

A good friend of the festival and crowd favourite.

Van Morrison tribute

The headline act was a big hit last year. This year they retuurn as a more intimate four piece ensamble.

Saoirse:- Are a Celtic Folk Band based in Melbourne.  These accomplished musicians play traditional Irish favourites and original material.  They've played numerous folk festivals and we're delighted to have them on board this year.  For more information on them and to sample some of their beautiful tunes click here.

Rythmn Kitchen: an acoustic act with an extensive repertoire covering hits from 60s to contemporary in the genres of rock, country, folk, Celtic, soul and blues hits. Sure to get the crowd going!

THE SESSION TENT

This proved very popular last year.  The tent caters for smaller more intimate acts and affords the festival goers the opportunity to experience and enjoy a traditional Irish music 'session'.

Poetry reading: The Bloomsday group will be reading 'Easter Rising' themed poems.

Newport Fiddle Folk Club.
They're based in Newport, they're a collective of musicians and folk enthusiasts who play folk inspired music. They played last year and were well recieved by the crowd.  Click
